Scanning and logging
The scanner says it cannot reach the server
AI photo, label and voice logging need an internet connection — the analysis runs on a server, not on your phone. Check your connection and try again. Manual entry, food database search and barcode scanning keep working either way.
The calorie estimate looks wrong
It can be. AI estimates portion size and hidden ingredients from a photo, and both are genuinely hard. Every estimate is editable before you log it — adjust the numbers, or use barcode or manual entry when precision matters. Do not rely on AvoLens where a wrong value could harm you, such as carbohydrate counting for insulin dosing.
A barcode is not found
Barcode lookups use Open Food Facts, a community-maintained database. Regional and store-brand products are often missing. Use nutrition-label scanning or manual entry instead — and you can contribute the product to Open Food Facts so the next person finds it.
How do I log a meal I forgot yesterday?
The entry screen has a day selector — Today, Yesterday, or any of the last 7 days. You can also tap a past day on the Home date strip and add to it directly.
Subscriptions
I paid but Pro is not unlocked
Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Google Play or Apple account you bought with. If it still does not unlock, email us with your store order ID.
How do I cancel?
Google Play → Subscriptions or Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your AvoLens account.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us — request one through Google Play or Apple. See the Terms.
Health sync and widgets
My steps and workouts are not showing
Android: install Health Connect from the Play Store, then grant AvoLens read access to steps, exercise and active calories. iOS: check Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → AvoLens. Then re-enable the connection in AvoLens under Settings.
Does AvoLens write anything back to Health Connect or Apple Health?
No. Access is read-only. AvoLens never writes to either.
The widget is not updating
Widgets refresh when the app updates your log. Open AvoLens once to push a fresh snapshot. On Android, also check that battery optimisation is not restricting the app.
Your data
How do I export my data?
Settings → Data & privacy → Export CSV gives you your food log, weights and measurements as a CSV file you can share or save anywhere.
Do I need an account?
No. AvoLens works fully offline without one. An account adds cloud sync across devices and the AI Coach.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account, or use the web deletion request if you no longer have the app. Full detail of what is erased is on that page.
What happens to my meal photos?
They are analysed and discarded — not stored on any server. Progress photos are different: those are saved to a private space only your account can read, and you can delete them individually. See the Privacy Policy.
